Program Evaluation
- University of Chicago. Analyzed electronic health record (EHR) data for the medical center to evaluate 5- and 10- year outcomes for a healthcare quality improvement program, 2016–2017 and 2021–2022. The Behavioral Health Integration Program (BHIP) embeds behavioral health staff within the Primary Care Group in an effort to increase the use of mental health services.
- University of Chicago. Analyzed data and wrote a detailed report for a pilot evaluation of Diabetes Group Visits in community health centers, 2016–2020. The evaluation used 10 types of data collection instruments to measure 80 clinical, behavioral, and health services outcome indicators.
- University of Chicago. Analyzed grocery store receipt data for a nutrition intervention at Save-A-Lot grocery stores, 2015–2016.
- YMCA of Northwest North Carolina, Winston-Salem, NC. Analyzed student and parent survey data and student fitness testing data and wrote reports to evaluate an obesity program in elementary schools, 2010–2013.
- Grammercy Research, Winston-Salem, NC. Analyzed middle school student survey and observational data to evaluate Instant Recess®: A Practical Tool for Increasing Physical Activity during the School Day, 2011–2012.
Strategic Planning
- Chicagoland Evaluation Association, Chicago, IL. Served as Co-chair of the Strategic Planning Committee to develop a strategic plan for the Association, 2011.
- Project Brotherhood, Chicago, IL. Developed a strategic plan for the not-for-profit organization that provides community health services to African-American men on the South Side of Chicago, 2011.
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS), Washington, DC. Participated in the Federal Interagency Workgroup (FIW) which developed the Vision, Mission, and Goals for Healthy People 2020, 2007–2008. The FIW was comprised of mid- and high-level representatives from federal agencies which are major stakeholders in Healthy People national objectives.
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, GA. Participated in strategic planning for the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity (DNPAO), and the Physical Activity and Health Branch (PAHB), 2006–2008. Since the CDC provides program recommendations, surveillance, program funding, and technical support to state and local health departments and collaborates with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF), CDC’s strategic planning activities included consideration of the strategic direction for the field of physical activity and public health.
Facilitation
- United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Small group facilitator in the Synodal Path Listening Sessions with Theologians, 2024.
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS), Washington, DC. As a member of a facilitation team, facilitated a regional in-person public comment session for Healthy People 2020 development, 2007. The public comment session in Atlanta, GA, was held at CDC Headquarters.
